The quickbooks program which I am using has two businesses with the same name. One has all of my information in it and the other one is completely empty. However, I cannot find the empty file in the "browse" of intuit, quickbooks pro file to delete it. The program will not allow me to delete the extra company, even though it is completely empty and void of data.

When I look at the location of each file, the one listed in quickbooks is the blank one while the other "same name" company is listed in user and contains all of the data but cannot be seen through the browse feature. When starting the program, it will "seach" (running a percentage) and "work" (running a percentage) until the program can be opened.

This is unnerving. I want to get rid of the file which is empty and void of data.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try renaming the empty file and see if you can access yours. After you're sure it's working try to delete the empty one
