Hey everyone! New here. Trying to reclaim my laptop from my son's misdeeds  Poor kid is all torn about about it, but, it's a good lesson for him. I'm not a complete novice, and often help friends with their pc problems, but there comes a time when outside help is needed. I appreciate all those who help here for no other reason but trying to help others.

Look forward to contributing if I can.

Make sure your son sits beside you while you fix the problems. He will perhaps learn some useful steps, and he will certainly learn that it is a lot easier to muck up your computer than it is to fix it.
Welcome to BC!

That would've been a good idea. Unfortunately, he wasn't going to be here until the weekend, and I didn't want to wait to get started on fixing the mess. The funny thing is, after he did it, he told me "I feel so dumb, because I knew better." I've gone on and on with him about not downloading things, but, I don't imagine he'll do it again. I did give him the play by play so far of what I've done and how long it's taken though.

Giving him a good guilt trip might reinforce the lesson.
Cheers,
John
