I am reformatting my laptop computer with my windows xp and somehow i have lost my product code and or warranty not sure now how i can load my xp back onto my computer, Microsoft cant help, I don't want to have to buy another xp anyone have any ideas? thanks JWJ

If you haven't reformatted the disk yet, you can get your key by using the Belarc Advisor which may be found here;

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Just install the program and your key will be listed in the software licenses section.

If you have already formatted your disk, I am not sure what to tell you, perhaps someone else will have an idea to help you out.

Stupid Question here but have you looked on the bottom of the laptop? Sometimes on there manufactures that build and install windows will place it there. i have even seen it under the compartment lid for the RAM.

Or if you hadn't formatted already take Ronbo's Advice.

Did XP come with the computer . Most companies are good about sending recovery disk for the cost of shipping . I have ordered several XP sets for HP for about $25 .
