Hey guys,

I made a horrible mistake and downloaded a file that I thought weas a video codec and tried to open it. I immediately realized it wasn't when I saw the cmd window pop up and it said one file loaded. Since then I have been getting popups, a new red background that says "Your privacy is in danger", ect. I have went through all of the steps before the hijackthis log (i can clean through adaware and spybot but after I do it the files just keep coming back). Here is my HijackThis log....

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.

Prior to running Combofix.exe you should disable your antivirus program and disconnect from the internet.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
Posted Image If I have helped you in any way, please consider a donation to help me continue the fight against malware.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4 and save it to your desktop.
  • Scroll down to where it says "JJava Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4...allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement". The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.

Your log is clean. Can you give me some more info on what Bit Defender detected?

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!
