While booting the pc with windows xp os following msg pops up windows can not find c:\windows\system32\ddaby.exe
could not load or run c:\windows\system32\ddaby.exe specified in the registry.make sure the file exists on your computer
or remove the reference to it in the registry.
I did a search on yahoo and several spyware sites say this is a virus and ask me to get their spyware software.
however I do have a panda virus protection software. I did scan my computer files with panda virus software and
after cleaning up i rebooted the pc and still get the same message. I close the msg window and the pc completes the
boot. Is this a virus that got in my computer and corrupted the registry. How can I get rid of it?

Your input is much appreciated,
regards,
learning lad

I don't think it corrupted your registry but try: Start > Run > type msconfig> Startup > look for anything named DDaby.exe or linking to C:\WINDOWS\System32\ddaby.exe. If you find anything like that, uncheck it and reboot.

This is most likely a virus that has been removed from your computer, but the startup entry was not removed. Try using this free program to rid yourself of the error: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...s/Autoruns.mspx

Look in the Image Path column for the line: c:\windows\system32\ddaby.exe

Should you think that the infection is not fully removed, please visit the "Am I Infected forum located here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
