Hello,
Thank you for being available to help solve my virus problem.
I believe that the problem started when I tried installing an unidentified DVD codec.
Now, I get IE7 popups every minute or so. The popups don't start until about 10 minutes after I restart the computer. I do not use IE... anymore. I use Firefox.

I ran all of the step-by-step instructions in the document "Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log, Instructions for receiving help in cleaning your computer" sent to me by 'Grinler' in response for my earlier incorrect hijack-post - I am sorry for that - I hadn't found this topic or instructions at that time. I already use many of the tools such as adaware, spybot, hijackthis, and some of the online scans such housecall. However, I followed the document to the letter and ran (or reran) all of the suggestions.

Of interesting note, BitDefender was not able to disinfect or delete two threats, both relating to adivioCodec => Instyler Module 0 and 1, update failed on 'Instyler o'. And, ActiveScan found one dll and a dozen or so cookies. I deleted the dll: "ras.dll", but I did not remove the cookies.

I have pasted both the HijackThis and ActiveScan logs below. I also attached them to this thread. I am sorry if the redundant information is incorrect.

I hope this is everything you need to fix my computer. And once again, I appreciate your help and advice. Thank you very much.
- Sincerely, David Manpearl
