Hello. I'm new to this. I became infected with the Search-Daily virus as well as a number of others. I ran Windows Defender, Free AVG, and Ad-Aware 2007 to take care of what they were able to find. I then ran Combofix. I that fixed the problem but I wanted an expert to view the log to see if there was anything else in there that needs to be deleted. I've attached a hijackthis log that I generated after running combofix. If I do need to delete anything, how would I go about it?

Thank you very much for any assistence you guys may have.

Thank you for responding. No worries about the late reply, and sorry for my late reply. I followed the link and began to install and run the programs suggested. After running Combofix, everything seemed to be running fine. At least, it killed the browser hijack, Search-Daily. Once that I have completed running the recommended programs in your link, I will post a new Hijack This log for your review.

Thanks again for your help.

If you have previously downloaded ComboFix,please delete that version now.
Download Combofix by sUBs and save to your desktop.
Alternative Combofix download link HERE.
Note
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Now close any open browsers.
Double click on Combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note
Do not mouseclick combofix's window or do anything else on your pc while it's running.
That may cause the program/system to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.
Note
In case your Antivirus or any other realtime scanner is displaying an alert after you downloaded Combofix or while you use Combofix, please disable your scanner and redownload Combofix again.
Some scanners may see some combofix related components as suspicious and block or delete them while there's nothing wrong with them.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Download and scan with CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp
1. Starting with v1.27.260, CCleaner installs the Yahoo Toolbar as an option which IS checkmarked by default during the installation. IF you do NOT want it, REMOVE the checkmark when provided with the option OR download the toolbar-free Basic or Slim versions instead of the Standard Build.

2. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"

3. Then select the items you wish to clean up.

In the Windows Tab:
* Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section except Cookies.
* Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
* Clean all entries in the "System" section.
* Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
* Clean any others that you choose.

In the Applications Tab:
* Clean all except cookies in the Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
* Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
* Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
* Clean any others that you choose.

4. Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
5. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
6. Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
7. Click "Exit" when done.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
(If you're running Windows Vista,be sure to "Run As Administrator").
When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
When installation has finished, make sure you leave both these checked:
-- Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
-- Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Then click Finish.

MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
On the Scanner tab:
-- Make sure the "Perform Quick Acan" option is selected.
-- Then click on the Scan button.
The next screen will ask you to select the drives to scan. Leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Run F-Secure Online Scanner.
Note:
This scanner is for Internet Explorer only.
* Click on Online Services and then Online Scanner.
* Accept the License Agreement.
* Once the ActiveX installs, click Full System Scan.
* Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
* The scan will take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
* Click the Show Report button then copy and paste the entire report into your next reply.

Also post a new Hijackthis log,let me know how your pc is running now.

Ok here are the log reports. A few more items were found and successfully removed. So far my computer seems to be running fine at this point. The only thing I have noticed recently (yesterday actually) is that Deamon tools will mount an ISO file but the file won't run. For example, If I mount the ISO file for Crysis or Call of Duty 4, nothing happens, where as before, the game would start instantly. AVG Free ed., states that Trojan Horse BackDoor.Generic9.SYD is attached to the Crysis ISO file. This trojan was found on 2/18/08 but Ive had the game a while now. A google search revealed that this is a faily common trojan for the Crysis ISO and it never had any effect on runnign teh game. I haven't played the game in quite a few months so I don't know if this is the cause of the game not being able to play. These are the only games that I run via mounting the ISO file. However, neither AVG or any other program has found a trojan attached to the Call of Duty ISO so I don't why this game won't run.

All in all, my system's performance now is pretty good, if not slightly faster.

EDIT: After I posted this reply, I re-started the computer and I received the "NTLDR is Missing press Control ALT Delete" message. So I re-started three more times with the same message. I then reset my BIOS settings and the computer booted normally. I don't know if this had anything to do with the most recent scan and removal of three more objects (by F-secure and malware removal), or if it's just a coincidence. At any rate, I thought it was worth mentioning.

Click on Start/Run,copy and paste ComboFix /u into the 'Open:' space, then press Ok.
This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and resets System Restore.

Download the free 30 day trial of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0:
http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/trial-versions.php

Disconnect from the internet.
Click on Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and remove/uninstall AVG7 Free, then restart your pc.

Now install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0
Once installed, connect to the net and update Kaspersky's virus definitions.
Disconnect from the internet and do a full system virus scan.
Post back when you've done that.
Let me know if Kaspersky detected and removed anything please.

Also post a new Hijackthis log,let me know whats happening now.

Ok, uninstalled AVG Free. Kaspersky found 2 items and successfully removed them. DAEmon Tools will mount the ISOs but the games will still not run. I'm thinking of just re-installing the games and DAEmon tools. Unless you had something else in mind.... Other than that, everything is working fine.

At any rate, here is the new Hijack This log:
