Hey, can anyone help me out here? My operating system is Vista. My computer suddenly goes into a blue screen and says that there is something critical in my system, and will shut down to prevent data loss. So I let it shut down, I reboot in safe mode, and I find that Windows Security tells me that the entire Security System is turned off. I tried turning it back on but an error message pops up. I used Tune Up 2008, and did a system restore. I rebooted and it said that the system restore was successful, but then the next day, the same thing happened. What am I supposed to do?

Operating System : Vista 32bit

Please help me if you can, I don't thing this is a MAJOR thing, but I would love to not have to restart my computer every couple hours...

Thx, noelzelda

Scanned with Eset Nod 32, Spybot S&D, and Windows Defender. All with no infections found. What should I do now?

Please let us know what the blue screen said (this is commonly referred to as the Blue Screen of Death - or BSOD for short).

If you're unable to get the exact message, please check your Reliability monitor and your Event Viewer (Windows Logs...System Log) for details.

To get to Reliability Monitor, go to Start and type in "reliability" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then click on Reliability Monitor in the left hand pane, then check the results in the right hand pane.

To get to Event Viewer, go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then click on Windows logs in the left hand pane, then on System Logs and view the results in the right hand pane.

Here's a link about finding BSOD information (it refers to XP, but will work the same in Vista): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/top...tml#entry409491
