Please see [topic="http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/129053/win32trojandownloadernewmedia/"]this[/topic] thread for my initial question. I'm not sure if you'd rather continue our chat in this thread or that one, but feel free to close one or the other.

Basically, I had win32.trojandownloader.newmedia on my computer. adaware found it, but it kept coming back. I finally, from safe mode, was able to do a system restore. Since then, I've downloaded HJT and some other spyware programs, which keep finding stuff.

I've also downloaded Stinger.exe, SmitfraudFix.exe, and ComboFix.exe, but don't really know if I need to run any of these tools.

Thanks again for the help!

Thank you for the offer, but I think my computer's running a-okay right now. If I notice anything unfamiliar, I'll be sure to start a new thread, but I guess for now I'll just say thanks for helping ppl like me - from what I read here and other places like this, I think I finally beat my problem. (Hmm... Symantec AV still won't run Auto Protect though... maybe I'll get around to filling out a new HJT thread after all).

Thanks!
