When i put CDs into the disk tray and close it, sometimes the computer will turn off completely within like 2 seconds. It then wouldn't turn back on again so i took out the main power cable and push it back in and the problem still occured. So i took it out again and put the end of the cable into a fabric material to stop the charge (if you get what i mean) then i plugged it back in and it made a spark sound and the computer went on again. This also happened again today.

Why is this happening?

open the computer and check the connections to the drive, if they are securely fastened then disconnect power and data cables from the drive before you damage the computer further

If the drive is malfunctioning it could burn up your power supply?

Find another one to test with? I had a new liteon from newegg that had a direct short in it and it killed a weaker power supply when I assembled the computer and first powered up.

I don't see any indications of a problem with the drives themselves...

You have to double click on the errors in the Event Viewer to get the text for the error message.
For the large group of errors in the system log - get the first bunch of errors (until you see a pattern start) and post the text for them.
