About a week ago I was foolishly enough to open an excuteable file hoping my Kaspersky anti-virus would defend me incase of virus attack. How wrong was I! Anyway, I have done a little Google'ing and find out about this site and ways to remove I think is SmitFraud. I have followed the steps and program used (SmitfraudFix, SmitRem, CCleaner, Spybot S&D, Disable & Enable System Restore etc) and getting my anti-virus back on again. Just when I thought everything is fixed the 'RED DESKTOP HIJACK' has come back, BUT this time there is only the desktop hijack and occassional IE popups (I think my Ad blocker is stopping the page from loading)so I think it is less serious. (As I was typing this another popup just appeared!) I have got a HJT log and definitely showing my system is NOT CLEAN! Can some shed some light so I can remove the remaining 'bits'?

Thanks. And here is my HJT log.
