I have been experiencing some minor problems with my pc the last couple of months, but nothing i couldn't handle, with a little help from you guys. But today i turned my system on, it begins to boot, it shows my motherboard prompt, flashes a couple of times and then comes up with the following statement," Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\system.

I tried to through in my original xp disk but the repair option takes me to a prompt and doesn't give me much info on what to do next.

I tried booting to safe mode but that doesn't work either.

I have another computer so i can pull the drive out, copy everything that is important out of it and do a clean install but i wanted to know if there was another option first.

Looking forward to some help.

Thanks.

RK
