Hi.
Occasionally my printer will only print half of a line, usually omitting the top half.
This seems to occur when I print text only, or when I am printing labels.
It usually prints fine when I print a full page of graphics, such as articles with pictures.
Here is a sample of what I mean, when I printed in label format.
I have an HP Deskjet 5740.
What could cause this?
Thank you.Posted Image

Have you tried aligning the print head?

Mark,
I looked at how to align the printheads, and did that. While I was there, I ran the other diagnostics, and after printing some sample letters and labels it looks good.
Thanks for the help.
Ray.

Update

My printer is working on and off.
Since I ran the diagnostics, I haven't been having the problems printing text or images off the internet.
But now, when I print pictures (for example from my digital camera through Photo Paint, as shown), I'm getting those lines again.
I chose best print quality, and ran the diagnostics again, but I'm coming up with this:
