I suppose I wanted to believe my computer was immune to viruses. I have very little on it to interest others. But alas, I have been struck down by the outerinfo virus.
I am at a loss as to how to get rid of this virus.
For the first time in my computer's life, I have installed an anti-virus, and then another and nothing seems to work.
So, here I am at bleepingcomputer.com and I am putting my sanity and my computer at your mercy.
I am so gratified that there are resources out there (and people :flowers: !) who are willing to do good.
As angry as it makes me that there are people out there who create viruses designed to infect innocent personal computers, I am trying to see the brighter side by focusing on the kindness of other strangers who may be able to help me solve my problem.

Thanks in advance.

as you have already posted a request for help in the HJT section you need now to await help there on that thread

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/128058/how-do-i-get-rid-of-outerinfo-virus/ :flowers:

having multiple threads open on the same topic only seeks to confuse matters

Please refrain from asking for help from other members or staff until the HJT Team has checked your posted log. The HJT Team work very hard to investigate a unique solution to your problem and you will receive individual expert assistance.

This takes time and effort so we ask you to please be patient while waiting for assistance and NOT to make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member. Any modifications you make on your own can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, following advice outside of that post may cause confusion for the team member assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

The HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. If you followed any other advice already, please ensure you inform the HJT Team Helper when they respond to assist you with your log. This will help them know what has been done and they probably will ask for an updated log.

If after 5 days you still have received no response, then post a link to your HJT log in the thread titled "Haven't Had A Reply In Five Days?".

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic until you are cleared by the HJT Team. If you still need assistance after your log has been reviewed and you have been cleared, please PM me or another moderator and we will re-open this topic.

Thanks for your cooperation.
