Recently my computer stopped processing network connections properly: I can't use any other Internet applications while downloading (uTorrent 1.7.6) i.e. if I am downloading then attempting to browse (using Firefox 2.0.0.11) brings up a blank browser window that says "done" in bottom left status area... attempting to check emails brings up "error" (unspecified)... attempting to update software (e.g. Nod32) generates "error - try again later"

Using Internet applications other than utorrent in conjunction with each other also sometimes results in errors but not always. I have had a few random freezes, some disappearing task bar icons and my system seems slow to load windows etc too. Sometimes the pc runs as normal when I first start up but not always.. I am fairly sure I have SOMETHING infecting the pc and there are some dodgy looking HiJackThis entries but would like confirmation and advice before I take action (and mess stuff up more!)
