I ran through all the steps described in the " Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log" topic.
I see some popups still. I am unable to install the AdAware 2007 (it gets stuck in the middle of installation). 2 days back when I ran search and destroy and restarted my PC, the desktop didnt show up after the restart. After some googling I found that I should check the default Shell in the registry and set it to Explorer.exe. I check the registry and the default shell was empty. Could some virus have done this?

Since today morning I am facing this serious issue of Trojans and virus being detected by Avira Antivirus. I have attached a screen shot. When I try to delete, rename or take any action on one file, the other file shows up. Its popping up every second. I also tried using Killbox but didnt work to delete those files. Search and Destroy has also stopped working since these popups started.

Here are the steps I did before posting this log
1. Ran Search bot and destroy and restarted my PC.
2. The desktop stopped showin up so fixed that issue.
3. Tried installing AdAware 2007 but was not successful in installing it.
4. Installed the AntiVir free antivirus software as recommended here.
5. Ran Panda scan.
6. Upgraded to IE7
7. Started using Firefox.

After all these steps, I thought I'd remove most of the vulnerabilities but I guess I am not there yet. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi nisthana,

Welcome to BleepingComputer Forums and thanks again for your patience.

Good decision to have this check.

Please follow instructions for downloading and running ComboFix in: How to use ComboFix

This includes installing the Windows XP Recovery Console in case you have not installed it yet.

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log.
