Hi,

While running Avg Fee Anti virus, detected virus in hosts and heal the file in turn. After that whenever I am trying to connect to internet, system restarts.

When I checked the file hosts in \winnt\system32\drivers\etc folder, it shows 0 bytes. When I checked this file in other pcs', it shows 734 bytes. I tried to copy this file from another computer and when I restart the pc, it again change to 0 bytes. There are no entries in Avg Free virus valut list.

one file called internat.exe is loading through registry. I could not find in other systems that this file is loading. Is it because of this? How can I solve the restarting problem when I am trying to connect to internet?

I am using Windows 2000 Professional.

Rgs,

Sreeram

Just sometime ago, I've found that svchost.exe in \winnt\system32 folder has been changed. It's modified date is 2 days ago. When I tried to copy this file from another pc, it won't allow saying access denied.

How can make my pc boots to DOS with all HDD available? I tried to use a bootable disk but it not showing my HDD. Once I am in DOS, I can copy svchost.exe. But DOS shell from windows won't allow to copy.
