I have a 20gig hdd with 5gig free.
In the properties of C: there is and option box to tick that says "compress drive to save disk space"
Is this a good idea or not ? what does it actually do.

Thanks

Hello,

This option will compres the drives files to give you more space however, as everything is compressed read and write times will be reduced giving you slightly reduced performance.

Alan.

No problem, glad to help,

If you are compressing large files, it can take a while.
Regards,

Alan.
