  I have a Gateway CPU w/ an AMD processor (loaded with Win 2000 Professional).
I am attempting to format the hard drive and start new. However, it's not allowing me to boot into
DOS mode so I can enter the proper command. What do I do?

Thank you

Take a look and ask any questions that you may have here in the forum.

I would suggest just using the Win 2K CD and not bother with boot disks, they are unnecessary since the Win 2K CD is bootable, does the formatting, and creates the partition.

Thanks Louis. So, can I just run the CD or to have to boot with it? This will wipe out
the entire hard drive as to start from a clean slate?

thanks for your help - Bryan

Enter the BIOS and change the boot order to have the optical drive as the first boot device. Put in the 2K CD and away you go. It will reformat and load fresh
