hello everyone-

once my computer has booted up a message pops up that says windows installer preparing to install. then it says hp product assistant and something like not being able to complete what it was trying to do because it needs the disk. well, i dont have the disk and i dont think that i ever have. i tried clicking cancel and it wont go away. finally after clicking cancel and X a few times it might go away, but if it does it will come right back up. i haven't always had this problem. i think it started two days ago. does anyone know how i can get rid of this?

-thank you

You can try this tool: Windows Installer Utility - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;290301

More info at: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=w...staller+Utility
