I think you need to disable AutoComplete in Internet Explorer.

In IE, click on Tools and select Internet Options/ Select the Content tab.
Under Personal Information, click on the AutoComplete button.
Deselect the Webaddress check box if you don't want IE to list these entries.

If you want to completely disable Autocomplete, click the Advanced tab in the Internet Options dialog, scroll down to Use Inline Autocomplete and deselect the check box.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

And there is also this from Google: How do I delete the drop-down list of my past searches?

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

Very simple. Open Google>click the empty text box>highlight the first item then hold down the delete button. All will be deleted.
