Random Freezing

Hi

when i play a game, say bf2

it randomly freezes at a point then i restart it and it goes to the welcome screen and freezes there instead

i just freshly fomatted my computer, and i dont know what is going on

to fix the omputer fro mfreezing i have to unplug it fro mthe mains for about 1 minute then it works again

i have a radeon 9700 pro with the driver version 16/01/2008

Does this happen at any other time other than playing games?
How RAM do you have?

this sometimes occur in some lower graphic hungry games

i have 1 gb of ram
