When I try to remove hp image zone express from the "add remove programs", the process begins then, a "cancelling" window flashes. The "add/remove" screen is the only place I can find the program.

Seems to be a lot of issues removing this software posted on other forums, and here.

Here's the common suggestion to fix this issue. -- http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/80860/cant-uninstall-hp-image-zone-express/
Please try it, and let us know one way or another if it worked.

I'll just add a general comment that what appears to be a solitary program...is often directly related to another program installed and that if one of those programs is running (files being used), it's difficult to uninstall from Add/Remove...without terminating said program and relatives via Task Manager (before attempting uninstall).

Just to expound on hamluis' point, when you look for things to close in the Processes dialog, look for anything starting with HP.
