PLEASE HELP!!!

1) The task mgr has been disabled 'by administrator' when I hit Crtl-Alt-Del

2) A little red circle with a white X is sitting in the tray on the bottom of the screen and when i right click it, it installs SPYKILLERPRO

3) I get a popup that says that i have spyware, and i need to clean the system

4) I also had an issue with black windows popping up showing the cmd prompt and "C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" rapidly opening and closing causing me to have to shut down over and over BUT THAT IS MOSTLY GONE

---- I ran STINGER, spybot, adaware....

Here is my log after running those cleaning programs:

Hi,

Go to this page.
Enter the url of this thread in the first field.
Where it says, browse to the file that you want to submit, click the browse button next to it and browse to next file:

C:\DOCUME~1\RYANDE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ieobj.dll

Select it and click ok:
Then click the Send File button below.

This really looks NASTY!

You have more than one backdoor trojan on your system as well as at least one very dangerous keylogger.

These allow hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the Trojans may be identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:

Thanks for the reply. I tried to find the file by following the path you suggested, I have no LOCALS~ subfolder. I ran a search for that filename, with no results. I am considering a full reformat (because I recently reformatted and have all my data backed up) but I am hesitant to do so if it is unnecessary! What would you suggest? I have included a new HJT log in case it has changed at all.

Hi,

I am considering a full reformat (because I recently reformatted and have all my data backed up) but I am hesitant to do so if it is unnecessary!

In that case, I really recommend a format. Since you formatted just recently and backed up your files anyway, it's really the best, fastest and especially the SAFEST choice you have.

You cannot imagine with what you are dealing... It's really nasty and a lot is already damaged which we can't always repair if you deal with this manually. Also the fact that your system is badly compromised, you will never be able to trust this system ever again if you deal with this manually.
Even though this looks like a challenge to deal with, It would be irresponsible from me if I don't recommend the format. You're not dealing with one infection, but with several different nasty infections. The SpykillerPro is the least of your concern - Even some legitimate services are replaced with malware related ones...
At this moment, with this severly infected machine, you're infecting a lot of other computers as well. That's why you basically have no other choice if you want to have a clean system again and trust this system again. Because this won't be the case when you deal with this manually - even though we removed malware, it will stay compromised and damaged.

But I would love to have some samples from your system first before you format and reinstall Windows, because some are really important for analysis.

So, do next to collect the files..

* Please download the Suspicious File Packer from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/files/sfp.zip
Unzip it to the desktop and run it.

Paste the following bold part into the Suspicious File Packer window:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\spool.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\RYANDE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\~~install.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Application Data\cftmon.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\quartz.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan de Vries\Local Settings\Application Data\cftmon.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\RYANDE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ieobj.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\lanmanwrk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\KernelDrv.exe

Allow SFP to pack the file. This will generate a CAB archive on your desktop.
Go to << url deleted since I already received the samples >>
Enter the url of this thread in the first field.
Where it says, browse to the file that you want to submit, click the browse button next to the second field and browse to the CAB archive that was been created on your desktop.
The cab file will be called requested-files[*].cab (the * stands for the date and hour).
Then click the Send File button below.

Do you have any idea where/how you got infected? Because you are dealing with several different infections and I am sure they didn't install all on the same day, since they are totally different infections...

OKay I uploaded the ieobj.dll. I will do the SFP now. I installed a program I downloaded. I will reformat. Is there any chance that malware can hide from a reformat and stay 'alive'?

my wife put some files onto a USB 'key' and tried to open the files on a different computer, is there a chance that the virus hopped a ride on the key and can spread itself onto another computer? when she put it in the new computer, she got a message that said something like 'setup xp' or something like that.....

I installed a program I downloaded

Guess that was from an illegal source, because if you download programs from the "developers" site, you wouldn't have this. Any other source may contain malware, or is malware.

Is there any chance that malware can hide from a reformat and stay 'alive'?

A reformat deletes ALL files on your system - so they will be gone... unless one of the files you backed up previously is a malicious one, so if you run it again, you will get infected again.
So good advice.. in case you have backed up any of the programs you also downloaded previously from illegal sources, don't run them afterwards, because they can be malware or download malware. If you need the programs, just download them from a source you can trust (original/developers site).

Please read my Prevention page with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future...

Extra note: Make sure your programs are up to date afterwards - because older versions may contain Security Leaks. To find out what programs need to be updated, please run the Secunia Software Inspector Scan.

And I hope you can keep your system clean now because it's not the first time you're dealing with malware as I see from your previous logs. But this time, it's really nasty.

And before I forget, after the format and reinstall, make sure you change ALL your passwords (online passwords) since they are known. Don't change them now from this infected computer, because they will gather the new passwords again.

And... extra important thing, during format and reinstall, make sure you disconnect from the Internet, (unplug your network cable or whatever you use to connect with the internet). Also download an Antivirus and Firewall installer (from a trusted source!) before you reformat and put it on cd or wherever your backups are, because right after reinstall, BEFORE you connect with the internet again, you should install your Antivirus and Firewall as a first step (or you'll get reinfected in no time if you connect with the Internet if there's no Security present).
Then once you have installed an Antivirus and Firewall, then reconnect with the Internet and immediately go to Windows update to install all updates/patches. Once that is done, you should be OK to go again

Yes, that's possible. Does she have an Antivirus installed?
Not sure what files were present on that USB key - were they executables?

All your passwords, because you could be infected previously with this one - As I explained, you are dealing with several different infections, so I cannot tell since when you are dealing with this one which may collect your personal data.

if i burn a cd with a firewall and antivirus, will the current malware hop onto that CD and reinfect my computer when i put it back in the cd drive after the reformat?

Since your wife has a computer, you can download it from there and put it on cd. But first I want to make sure your wife's computer is clean as well.
