Hello, I'm looking for assistance on how to remove multiple pop ups and antivirus prompts from my computer. I've tried uninstalling some programs from the remove/install programs menu with their own executables but that doesn't help. IE will also repeatedly open itself into a loop with a blank page with no pop up ad at all. I don't know why that is.. I've researched and was directed to use Hijack this which I have downloaded and installed. Hoping that my log doesn't look that bad..

Hello peaceofmind,

Before we start, you need to realize that you are missing one important program on that computer: An antivirus.

This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.

You need to install an antivirus program as soon as you can and run a complete scan of the computer.

I recommend you download the free

Avast or
AntiVir or
AVG antivirus

Products from all three vendors received the Virus Bulletin's VB100% award and certification for virus detection from ICSA Labs.

Never install more than one antivirus scanner or firewall on your system! Several together can give you problems and decrease the reliability of it seriously!

After you run the antivirus program, post its log along with a fresh Hijackthis log.
