Hey there! I hope someone can help me.
I've got a new laptop, wich is my first one, and sometimes when I open a few things at once, like WMP11 and FireFox, or even just Windows Explorer, it freezes for a while and then the screen turns black. A continuous beep sound won't stop until I press the power button. Then I have to hold it down until it shuts down and then turn it on again. It's pretty annoying... I hope there is a solution...
Just for the record:
Acer Aspire 5050
AMD Athlon 64x2 Mobile Tech TK-53
1Gb DDR2
256Mb ATI Radeon XPress
Windows XP Professional SP2

Thank You

First you need to be more specific about the beep sound cause this can tell you what is wrong.
It could be that the memory is slightly out o place which means just opening the back to slot it in properly but that again depends on the amount of beeps you are getting...Next time count the beeps and do a search in google.
any more info could also help.

Allright, thanks!
I'll pay more attention the next time and I'll google that. BUt I didn't think about the memory thing because the laptop is brand new, and I experienced that in my desktop, when I installed a DVD recorder.. In that case, it would't even boot up! I took me a couple days to figure it out.
Thanks for your help again.

The laptop is brand new.

Don't even screw with it, return it under warranty
