 I was advised to use combo fix and given a url and on downloading no advice so googled and found this site.

I already have a Winsockxpfix which looks similar on its icon. But this has stopped working.

Is this one of yours - same icon?

Was advised to use this tool - as problem losing FF and many other programs not responding. On dl FF again and again, corrupt on opening.

Meanwhile had found Spybot was not responding and having a good look around - found 2 versions of it - tried to uninstall older one and no go - then opening the program file found that both versions were in one file all mixed up 2 uninstalls - neither of which working. Went to their site and still couldn't uninstall - so used Cyberscrub as last resort and it worked. Problems are all fixed.
Well until I went back on line and couldn't connect and found that all my settings were altered. Got that fixed and email setting were altered - fixed them and back on line and so far - crossing fingers - no nasty messages or freezing programs.

You may not be interested but I thought telling as many as possible that this happened - two programs on one file - may help others in same predicament. :flowers:
