Well, I opened iTunes about 2 days ago and got this error message:

The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPodís software.

I reinstall iTunes, and when I reboot my computer, it's as if it was never reinstalled--I'm getting the same error message.

Today, I came across a program called "OSA9.EXE" that is currently running on my computer. I've never seen it until recently (about the time iTunes stopped working) and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Also, my computer has been going kind of slow lately. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I've recently found out OSA9.EXE has to do with Microsoft Office. So that can't be it.

I see you have a HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum.

You shouldn't make any changes to your system, while your HJT log is posted, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.
At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

I'm closing this topic until you are cleared by the HJT Team.
If, after your log has been cleaned, you still need help, please PM a Moderator and we will re-open this topic.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.
