I have a Patriot XPorter XT 2GB flash drive. I was using it in an old computer with Vista's Readyboost feature when I decided to just simply use it as extra storage. Readyboost refused to give up the drive so I removed it and tried to format the flash drive. After about 10 hours of formatting, an error message came up that said "Windows cannot complete formatting, drive is write-protected." There is no write protect switch on the drive. I've also tried doing a low level format to no avail. How can I format the drive to make it usable?

I've tried pretty much everything on that list. I've contacted Patriot, I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
