I was going to buy one of these 500 Gb 7200 rpm 2.0 usb ex hd's for my windows xp 2002 home edition. When I upgrading the Usb port so it can take 2.0... is there anything else that wouldnt allow me to use this ex HD on my comp?

Hello,

It should work as long as your system meets the minimum requirements stated for the HDD, I read an article somewhere a little while ago saying that people were unable to transfer media ie mpegs, avi, to a WD HDD
Regards,

Alan.
