I have a problem with my email access, I use Thunderbird as a client along with POPTRAY as a screener all worked fine up untill I tried to get rid of an irritating popup warning from my anti virus (AVAST) telling me that a virus has been detected calling it a Trojan Win 32 DEF-DQP. On advice I used various scanners to solve the problem and this seems to have worked. Now when trying to access my emails an error message appears "socket error 10054 connection reset by peer". I have not experienced this before, can anyone tell me what it means, and how I can fix it. my O/S is Win 2K pro. I must add that this problem seems to be intermittent it went away yesterday was still ok this morning for about 10 mins but is now back??????.
