Is it possible to install an XP Pro 32 bit version onto a 64bit motherboard and an AMD 64 x2 processor?

Thanks

The answer should be "Yes" - but the make and model of the motherboard will help us to ensure that this is correct.

Thanks usasma.

I havent picked it yet....still looking from when I fried my old board a few months ago.

I'm thinking about an Athlon 64 x2 cpu (something like a 4800) and an appropriate board to go with it. I'm not into gaming (probably because my system's not been good enough in the past) but do a lot of downloading (movies / music etc) and play a lot of poker online while converting files. I do a lot of slipstreaming as well. I'm on wireless with a 24 Mb ADSL2+ connection (12 Mb on good days)

Any suggestions?

Cheers

The CPU will handle it. The motherboard will also likely handle it - but you've got to make sure that the motherboard will support the 32 bit drivers. While nearly every motherboard made for that processor will handle 32 bit Windows, I hesitate to say "All" because I just don't know of every one that has ever been made - hence the caution to look up the specs before buying one.
