I have been trying to set up a secure connection to a home pc with all my media on it, that way I can stream it from anywhere and have the extra free space on my computer. A combination of secure shell and remote desktop make this possible. Here is a link to the instructions I followed. To make things easier, go with copssh on the server and use whichever client software you are comfortable with. I didn't understand the part about www.dyndns.com so I just used www.cmyip.com for my external router ip. Other than that it works very well and I am going out tomorrow and getting a used monitor and a big harddrive for an old desktop I have lying around so I can tunnel in for my stuff whenever I need too. Here's the link: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=883607
