I think I got this from an e-mail from a friend and my virus checker did not catch it. I use CA software. I have done all the necessary steps in your posting, running AdAware three times, but it could not get rid of a file called, 'index.dat.msnportal.112.2.....'. I ran SpyBot three times also and it did not find anything. I also ran the MaAfee AVERT stringer. I don't know what else to do.
