Once again, I am infecte with what, I do not know. This is the story. I did have the internet speed monitor virus, I got it off, I had no more problems. Yesterday we moved, and when my pc was hooked up all sorts of pop ups started happening. Its mostly *scan you pc for virus!* and *viruses detected on your pc erase them now!* type things, they come up about every 10 mins or so. Some porn is popping up too. At this point I am very frustrated and want this crap off my pc. I have looked in add/remove programs and see nothing unusual at the mo. I do not have any virus scan on my pc. I did try to download a program last week and scan my pc before all this happened, and when I rebooted in safe mode to run, it said administratr wouldnt allow that program. I have no clue what to do about these pop ups, please help me, it may take me time to do things, but if someone is willing to walk me through I would be so grateful!!! Thank!

Do you have any virus protection on your PC?
A few recommendations...

Download SpyBot - Search and Destroy and install the program. After installing the program, click on Search for Updates and download what the program finds. Click on Search & Destroy and on Check for problems. Delete what it finds.

Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware from Your Computer
Download Spybot - Search and Destroy

Run an online virus scan: Trend Micro Housecall Antivirus

Get Avast! antivirus Home edition Here and run a boot time scan after install.

Download the MVPS host file at this thread

Hope that helps!

Adaware 2007 stinks and Spybot is not powerful enough a tool anymore, IMO.

For anti-virus try http://www.free-av.com

For anti-spyware, try http://www.superantispyware.com

Good luck.

Hello I see that your HJT Log is posted Here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...mp;#entry706663

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

If after 5 days you still have received no response, then post a link to your HJT log in the thread titled "Haven't Had A Reply In Five Days?".

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
