I am helping a friend of mine to fix her computer. Runs real slow and she gets lots of pop ups while browsing. I ran Ad-Aware and Spybot in safe mode and deleted everything they found. I then ran Hijackthis in safe mode and saved the log file which is below. Hope you can help out!!

Hello again jp. Sorry about the delay. I got tied up with a couple of other posts that took longer than I expected. Let's start with the major problem here. It appears that your friend is infected with the Vundo trojan. To begin, I would like you to download a special tool to remove this trojan and after we have taken care of that we will fix the rest of the problems.

Please download the Trojan.Vundo Removal Tool. You must have administrative rights. Follow the steps below to run the tool:* Close all the running programs.
* If you are on a network or if you have a full-time connection to the Internet, disconnect the computer from the network and the Internet.
* Locate the file that you just downloaded.
* Double-click the FixVundo.exe file to start the removal tool.
* Click Start to begin the process, and then allow the tool to run.
Important: Do not launch any new applications while the tool is running.

When the scan is done:* Restart the computer.
* Run the removal tool again to ensure that the system is clean.
* If you are on a network or if you have a full-time connection to the Internet, reconnect the computer to the network or to the Internet connection and reboot your computer.
OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here as a relpy to this topic and I will review it.

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS SOME OF THE FILES ARE LEGITIMATE AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER
