Cant Load Windows

hi all
i got a problem loading windows on my hp compaq nx7400 laptop
it got so slow a format was what i thought would be needed.
problem was i cleaned the hard drive
now i cant load windows back on
i get a message saying...no hard drive found you may need to use manufacturers
start disc...doh dont have one of them.
any sudgestions i dont really know what im looking for.

gbadger is the same system that you asked about here in Oct '07?

Did you ever resolve that problem? Or is this a continuation of the same problem?

What are you using to reinstall Windows? The Compaq disks provided with the computer should automatically load the SATA drivers.

If you're using another type of disk (or if the Compaq disks don't load the SATA drivers) then you'll have to load them yourself - either by using a USB floppy drive or by slipstreaming them into your installation CD.
