Box: Compag, AMD 64, 3.3Ghz w/windows XP home, a CD/DVD ROM and a CD/DVD burner. The machine is a week old.

Problem: (it's my kids. they do stuff to the computers and I have to fix them)

Symptom: The burner, which worked 5 days ago, is no longer recognized by the machine.

Is the fix a system restore, or something else?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The Biek Psycho.
