Could really use some advice with this one. A program called webbuying self installed on my system and since then I have been running terribly slow and getting popups. I uninstalled webbuying using add\remove programs but that had no effect on the symptoms. I have run AdAware SE Personal and it detects Purityscan malware and tells me that it is quarantined and deleted, however when I restart as soon as my personal settings are loaded, arpa.exe starts running and really slows down my system, sometimes locking up. I have tried running AdAware in safe mode with the same results. Using MSCONFIG and starting without startup items arpa.exe isn't running but I still get popups. I'm not sure what to do about adware that AdAware can't remove and browsing the forums I found out about HJT but I don't really know what it does. I am writing this post from another pc because mine hangs on startup half the time. Please any help is greatly appreciated.

Justin

Hey everybody! Well I went looking for lyrics and insted I picked up a nasty malware. The program self-installed in the background I think and seems to reinstall the components removed by SpyBot and AdAware. I looked in the Add\Remove programs in the control panel and found "Webbuying" and uninstalled it but that didn't have any effect on the popups. I've tried starting in safe mode and runing anti-spyware but they allways tell me that some components could not be deleted because they are in use or in memory. I've tried a selective startup and it seems to stop the popups but I'm still unable to delete all the spyware. I'm not sure what to do now short or a full system reinstall. I'm posting two HJT logs one from when i first noticed the infection and one from today after running Spybot S&D and AdAware SE Personal. If anyone can offer some advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks
