I need help to get rid of an annoying voice telling me my printer is on! Is this a set task? a start-up hidden command? a Windows XP special? Anyone.....???

If it's a lexmark it's hidden somewhere in the printer properties.

You most likely have a printer related program running thats starts up when you boot. If you can identify this program just disable it from starting up unless you are doing a lot of printing. Its not really neccessary and those types of applications can use up a lot of resources. You will still be able to print normally.

I went into the Lexmark printer properties and found a checked box with "printer notification" on it. I removed the check - voila! no more annoying voice. Thanx!

Thanks for letting everybody know how to turn that off. I'm sure a few have been fixed by now.
