Hi all!

I surely hope I can get some help here. I need this laptop for university in a week and there's no way I can afford a computer shop. Here's the details:

I stupidly downloaded some suspicious setup.exe's from limewire (never again will I download programs from P2P!), and got infected. I think the virus is playing with my registry, and from searches of the dlls, I think it is the vundo virus. Basically, when I start up in Windows normal mode, some system messages popup. They say "error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\mllmj.dll, no such interface supported". Yesterday, the "mllmj.dll" was replaced by a few different other things, which changes after I do some cleaning. Anyway, after these popups, my desktop goes blank leaving me with only the wallpaper and mouse pointer. I can only operate from safe mode, although yesterday I didn't even have that.

I have run the spyware programs and avant, and used vundofix and combofix numerous times. Each time vundofix finds new versions of the vundo bug. So I guess it is hiding somewhere and reinstalling itself. This is making me crazy! I would be happy reinstalling windows, but even my gateway backup disk doesn't work!

I would be super appreciative if someone could lend me a hand. I've tried my very best to keep this laptop clean, and DLing those stupid files from limewire was the last time! If I can clean this up I'm investing in some good anti-virus and firewall protection.

Without further ado- here's my new hijackthis log. I will not mess with the laptop or run vundofix anymore so that whomever replies will know where I'm at:

Hi,

Download Combofix from any of the links below, and save it to your desktop.

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall
