I have a big problem that I really need solved. I have an american ps3 which is in ntsc format but I recently moved to europe so everything here is in pal format. Is there any way for me to modify my ps3 to make it play pal and ntsc or is there any way to modify the ps3 games to change it from pal into ntsc.

From what I know, an NTSC system goes with an NTSC tv. PS3 games are not region locked but PS2, DVD, and BluRay discs are. I have heard conflicting, and often confusing, reports about compatibility. I wonder if the use of HD cables, such as HDMI, would have an impact as opposed to the standard cables that come with the machine. I'm not sure if you need a power converter for the NTSC system or not.

You just need a multi-system TV. (HDTV is a good example)

Well I think you might have to trade the Ps2 for a PAL version, if that is possible.

From what I have read it would appear that the PS3 isn't region locked when it comes to PS3 games. So it doesn't matter where your games come from you can play them on any PS3 console regardless of whether or not its PAL OR NTSC.

However PS2 games, DVD's Blu-Rays etc are region locked. Other than taking your PS3 apart (voiding the warranty) and messing about with its insides there isn't a viable way to play PAL on NTSC or viceversa.
