Did you try the software support section...to see if this is a situation previously encountered/overcome?

http://www.dvdflick.net/forums/

If you think it's a system problem, I suggest taking a look at Event Viewer and Device Manager for possible clues.

What is the Event Viewer, and Should I Care - Ask Leo! - http://ask-leo.com/what_is_the_event_viewe...uld_i_care.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Device_Manager

In any case let us know what you try, find out, etc.

I think I'd check for an update on the program used and I would probably try the old defrag before attempting burn thing.

Don't forget that old standby: Uninstall the program via Add/Remove Programs, then reinstall it and see if the problems disappear .

I am a beta tester for Imgburn and I don't think that's your problem, a simple google search of your drive will enlighthen you.

Post that imgburn log and check with your manufacturer for a firmware update for that oem liteon drive

http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?p=2074...af1b3960c165f04

keep this thread handy, you may need to use it

I use dvd flick a lot but save the conversions to my hard drive and test, some conversions fail due to poor quality divx/xvid encoding. After checking the output I burn manually with nero or imgburn.

imgburn.log you can search for this, it has the data needed to diagnois (or start to) your problem

imgburn.exe should be in the dvd flick folder in program files

the log access is under help

I moderate a subforum for dvd burning, take my word for this, without a log, it's all just conjecture

If Imgburn was never able to complete a log then open the program, use write mode and stick a blank in and post the right hand screen(copy and paste)

I'd say, based on that message, that your drive is faulty...not your software, O/S, etc.

hi louis,,, it looks that way,,, i think its to do with this model of liteon drive & vista,,,, i looked around on google and its always the same drive,, the DH16W 1P and not copleating the burn with vista,,,, it looks like an older type of dvd rom as i cant find it on the liteon site or anywhere else. I have seen a DH16W 2P, this maybe an updated version of the 1 i have ,,,,,,, thanks Louis.

OK guys, I hate to scold you but after reading several hundred/ maybe thousands of these logs, the clues are in those 3 lines, look at the time, and sectors, do the math, don't jump to wild conclusions

just because a early release of the 20x liteon drive with poor firmware can't write shoddy blanks at 16x, you all have blamed vista, dvd flick and liteon

lower the burn speed, use better media

ask the imgburn author in his forum

sure every now and then a 16x burn might work

Almost all of my tests have but I still use better media and burn at 8X
