Which Processor For Gaming, Quad Or Dual?

It seems that the E6850 may have a slight edge currently over the quad Q6600, but what about down the road?

The E6850 is a little faster then the Q6600, but newer games and applications are being created to use multiple cores. I think if you have a game that can use all four cores then the Q6600 will be faster. If it were me, I would go with the Q6600, but that is just my opinion.

dual core does a little better in a few newer games, quad does a lot better in several components of newer games

but without a top notch video card you might not notice
