Hey, my mouse has stalled as such in the middle of the screen, like the exact middle. I have tried using a different mouse but it doesnt work. My mouse is a microsoft wireless, that came in a bundle with a keyboard, now the keyboard uses the same wireless receiver as the mouse, so I do not think it can be that. My computer says the signal is fine, and the mouse has its lights working. Anyways what can i do to get the mouse working again. I need help, it isnt the batteries, the wireless or the usb connection. It must be something changed in a setting. It orginally happened when I was playing Rollercoaster Tycoon, it is a windows xp computer.

it should have a reconnect button
if not, how about restarting the computer?
or maybe take out the mouse's batteries and put them back in?
if its IR, maybe there's a conflicting signal?

I have tried taking the batteries out, but it still is in the middle. I then restarted the computer, didnt work, I then took out the power cord and it didnt work. I aint sure what type of wireless it is, but the computer says it is getting the signal perfect. I have also tried using the reconnect button, but like i said the computer says the mouse is perfect.

Do you have a PS/2 mouse that you can try? Is the device being recognized in the Device Manager? Are there any yellow question marks or yellow triangles with an exclamation marks showing in the Device Manager?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

possibly there is something on the optics of the mouse?
is it a standard optic mouse (nonlaser) and you're using it on a clear mouse pad or on a glass desk (optic works on neither, laser can work on both)

Hey, I have tried a PS/2 mouse and it was still the same, there are no question marks showing in the device manager and it shows the mouse perfectly. I cant see anything wrong, it is not an optic mouse, and its on just the desk. Batteries have been changed and still nothing.

After you installed/connected the P2 mouse, you did reboot, right?

I don't think those (P2 mice) are hot-swappable.
