Does your computer have the 64 bit version of Windows?

i ran a scan, and it said "Your computer has a 64 bt processor, but your current windows version only uses 32 of the available 64 bits. You should consider upgrading to a 64 bit version of your operating system to benefit from imporved security and better system performance" I hope that answered your question.

Security Update for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition KB823980 is only for the 64 bit version of Windows, while you have the 32 bit version - that's why it won't install.
