Need To Download Stuff From The Web

ok so i just moved back to the states from germany. my computer worked fine, but when i get back to the states i cant us my yahoo messager or download a new one. so i go in and delete all the yahoo stuff to start over. but know i get an error message the said that I (it cant access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access that item) I thought it was just for yahoo but it is for everything i try to download. but if i try to download anything it does the download and it puts it on my c:\ but just before it is done downloading it stops and pulls up that error message. can some one please help

p.s. i can not do a system restore, it wont work

Just a thought, have you gone to "Date and Time" in your Control Panel and changed things back to Stateside?

How did you connect to the web in Germany? Have you deleted all traces of the connection that you used in Germany and installed a new connection for the USA? I don't believe that this is the issue, but it will at least be a start at resetting your system to normal.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
