first problem is when i open up internet explorer and click on the favorites menue there are sites that i never even visited pinned to it and it won't let me delete them. there is a folder labled "sites about" and there are 3 other favorites listed "only sex website" "search the web" "seven days of free porn". i went into add/remove programs and there is a program called "shopping wizzard" that i cannot remove either. also when i do a system scan with virus scan i get this message... access to file was denied-virus name: start page - FY. it will not let me clean this file or remove it.

to make things worse, this is my work computer. I've never once visited any of the above sites but they still found there way to my computer? can anyone help save my job?

You might try doing both a virus scan and a spyware scan on your hard drive.

There a good, and free programs to do this:
Spybot - will search for, and delete spyware both in your files and in the registry
Ad-Aware - will do the same thin as Spybot
AVG anti-virus - it's free and upgrades the latest virus threats.

Hope this works for you!

Cheer.

You need to use webroot spysweeper and spybot search and destroy. Search this site or google the names and youll get links to dl. dl and intstall then update. Also...read all pinned articles on security board. Scroll down...take a look in there ...mad info.

If those dont work...post back again and some one will recommend something else. I have a feelin most of your comps normal functioning will return after those progs are run. Make sure you get latest versions and updates. Don't by spysweeper...free for 30 days. btw...my trial period is up...how do i keep spysweeper going? ty
