Hello,

This my first post. Please forgive me if I did this incorrectly or posted in the wrong place. Nevertheless, I could use some help if anyone is willing.

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Error Signature
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180 szModName : esent.dll
szModVer : 5.1.2600.2780 offset : 00077aec

The following files and Technical infomation about the error will be included in the error report:
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc8cb.dir00\svchost.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc8cb.dir00\appcompat.txt

Hi hammer, need a bit more info, does the error come up as soon as you boot into XP? Or do you try to run an application ect. Event Viewer may have some more answers >right click on my computer>manage>event viewer and look for an event message an id when the error took place.
