New Modem

I have dsl from bellsouth. I bought an older dsl modem for the back of my house at a garage sale for 1$ and I was wondering if a: it would in any way mess up the newer modem I use curently b: it would and any extra charges to my bill c: it would affect the modem I use now.

From what you are saying is you have a broadband account and you want to use a second modem on your current account. You possibly could one at a time, turn one off and use the other. You could not use both at the same time.
